This time we salute Ryan Howard of the Philadelphia Phillies. The 6 foot 4, 252lb., first baseman is only in his full season in Major League Baseball and is already leading the majors in home runs (49) (as of September 1st ) and RBIs (128).

Howard hit a major league leading 14 home runs and had a major league leading 41 runs batted in August and lead his team to a strong resurgence in the National League Wildcard race as the Phillies went 18-11 for the month. In July he hit 8 home runs and 19 RBI.

A serious contender for NL Most Valuable Player, Howard has hit .299 showing signs of being more than a big bomber but of a player who can hit it to any field and will be a special player for a long time to come!
