The Dallas Mavericks lost the NBA Finals to the Miami Heat (they got hosed) and after a slow start the Mavs are looking like the most complete team in the NBA and Dirk Nowitzki is the catalyst to the teams success. The "German Sensation" Nowitzki continues to shine on offense but has also stepped up he rebounding and fallen into the defensive philosophy of head coach Avery Johnson.

For the month of January (as of Jan 25th) Nowitzki has lead the Mavs to an 11-2 record and the team continues to lead the conference for best record. Nowitzki has averaged 29.7 points shooting 51.7 percent, 9.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

Nowitzki doesn't get all the MVP talk but he should be thrown in the pot because he's doing his thing this season and the Mavs are doing very well!
