| The
season will most assuredly go down as a coming
out party for our GeoSports Player of the Month:
Jimmy Rollins. Rollins, the Philadelphia Phillies
shortstop, led his team to the playoffs for
the first time in 14 years as he played stellar
defense and offense all season long! The past
two months are certainly when he earned his
Most Valuable Player credentials!
For
the month of August, Rollins batted .296 with
a .487 slugging percentage, 34 hits, 8 stolen
bases and 4 homers.
In
September when the Phillies went as far down
as 7 games in the NL East standings to the New
York Mets, Rollins kept the team going and hit
.298 with a .542 slugging percentage, 6 homers,
5 triples, 4 doubles and 14 stolen bases. His
defining moment was the RBI triple in the division
clenching game on September 30th in the sixth
inning.
Rollins
is one of four players in ML history to hit
20 in four stolen bases, triples, doubles and
home runs.
