Sixers
Season Hinges On “AI” Getting
The Best Out of The “Big Dog”
The Sixers have started the season and
with improved pieces. This year Allen
Iverson has his best scoring mate yet
with Glenn “Big Dog” Robinson
coming into to town. They will form one
of the best scoring duos in the league
if Iverson lets him. The times of “AI” scoring
28-31 points should be over for him and
us as well. He needs to think of getting
6-7 assists a game and making his team
better by playing better team defense.
Like last year he has no shot blocker
in the frontcourt so this is important.
Robinson needs to take the shots he always
took for this to be successful. We don’t
need someone who serves to be Iverson’s
sidekick we had enough of those in Kukoc,
and Van Horn. We need someone who wants
to put the ball in the hoop as much as
Iverson. Their success together will
be key to our success.
Our forwards need to cover a lot of
ground on defense and rebound the ball.
I like the toughness we have with Derrick
Coleman and Marc Jackson. They are not
taking any flying elbows or cheap shots
by anyone and will fight you. That alone
will scare people out of attacking the
paint.
Our young players need to get minutes
and contribute. We need some life injected
in this veteran based team and players
like John Salmons with his size and ball
handling, Samuel Dalembert with his shot
blocking and Willie Green with his explosiveness
need to be grow on the job. All looked
decent during the summer leagues and
if they could do a fourth of that in
the real games we will be all right.
Aaron McKie and Eric Snow need to keep
being the voices of wisdom on the court.
McKie finally healthy after a couple
of plagued season and we need his scoring
and defense. Snow needs to keep improving
his aggressiveness and outside shot.
Both defense on the other teams best
player is invaluable and should be a
factor when facing a guard heavy Eastern
Conference.
