GeoReview: 9th Wonder & Murs, Sweet Lord

By Clayton Ruley

Murs and 9th Wonder rejoin forces with Sweet Lord, a 10 track LP that brings the North Carolina and California artists together again. In fact, Murs dubbed has their sound: Cali-lina.

The team starts with Intro and Murs his thing over a fun track filled with precussion sound. The team gets dark on "Are You Ready", a track questioning if people can handle what they are bringing on the beat!

"Nina Ross" is a about a chick from Philadelphia (I don't know how true it is) he met outside a club and Murs does well telling a story in a funny way.

A song with the title of "Free" needs to be tight and this is just that! Murs talks about making a stance and being free to make positive changes like free healthcare and more.

9th Wonder gets funky on "And I Love It" and Murs does his thing, rambling on what he loves.

Crates were certainly dug in on "It's For Real", a soulful cut about what a woman needs to be prepared for when dealing with Murs.

"Marry Me" needs no explaination besides that the love exchanged is from man to music!

"Love Tha Way" is a nice love track with a powerfully sung chorus and "Murs Inatra" ends the LP with sounds and dedications.

Another nice effort from the bi-coastal duo, I'll give it 3 GeoGlobes.
