Hmmm where
do I start...
I
admit that I' m
a huge Common fan. Saying that, he is an
artist, and lately everyone is changing direction.
I really enjoyed Finding
Forever,
but Universal Mind Control is
a new page in Common’s
career. After an Intro, "Universal Mind
Control" is the first track featuring
Pharrell. A very radio ready track with
a futuristic video. Next up is “Punch
Dunk Love” feat.
Kayne West. Mr. West sounds bored like
he wants to get high and go sneaker shopping.
Obviously I am a very critical listener,
and after ” Punk
Dunk Love” I think The Neptune’s
and Common don’t mix. If only in
my eyes. I'm sorry but it's true!
Next
up is “Makes my Day” feat.
Cee-Lo, a nice little tune that will help
do your diddy bop. This is another radio
ready track with flaky substance.
”Sex
4 Suga” the worst track on the album.
Common sounds absent and silly. The Neptune’s
must have using all their B-side and leftovers
for this Common album.
Moving
right along is “Announcement” with Pharell
. Pharell sounds like he needs shock therapy
or an ass whoopin.
In
a return to the old days, Common
gets a little political with “Gladiator” and “Changes”.
This
LP has 11
joints with all the favor that I just can’t
savor.
Overall
I am looking forward to many remixes and
colorful videos. I am giving this two GeoGlobes.
This LP is certainly a one-time listen for
me. Peace people, Metropolis.
