Redman
has been doing movie, DVDs and more since
his 2001 Malpractice album. Lucklily
he's kept fans going with his Ill
At Will volumes 1&2 and introduced
us to his Gilla House crew of Icarus,
Ready Roc, E3, Runt Dog, Saukrates, and
Melanie but the fans have been waiting
for Red Gone Wild for at least three years.
What
is up with Def Jam?
Well
we can't answer that last question but
can announce that Red Gone Wild is finally
out in stores. This 23 track CD features
production from Timbaland, Scott Storch,
Erick Sermon, Da Mascot, Tha Chill, DJ
Clark
Kent, Rockwilder, Pete Rock, Watts, E3,
Da Omen, Watts, Vitamin D, Adam Deitch
& Chris "Max" Pinset.
This
album is features Redman in his party
happy, weed smoking self with help from
the Gilla House team,
Def Squad, DJ Kool, Biz Markie and the
Return of Hurricane G! Every once in a
while he gotta get on a track like "Dis
Iz Brick City" and let you know he
can tear any rapper a new hole if he wants
too but it's basically smack talking,
tree blowing great metaphors and slang
usage.
Songs
you need to pay attention to include "Put
It Down", a definite party banger,
"Sumtn 4 Urrbody", a track featuring
the Gilla crew, "Wutchoogonnado",
"Soopaman Luva 6", "Blow
Treez" and "Suicide". While
not his best work it's years overdue and
is still high quality and his wit and
skits are always on point.
This
LP is worthy of a 4 GeoGlobe rating.
The good thing about Redman is he's never
taken Rap too seriously and still manages
to be one of the best. I look to hear
more from Red on the forthcoming Muddy
Waters 2 scheduled to come out in late
2007!
