The Cleveland born and raised Ray Cash
released Cash On Delivery in
2006 and executively by Kawan Prather
(famous for working with a younger T.I.
on albums) it's a nice debut!
Now many have heard Cash on the "Bumpin
My Music", "She A G" and
"Sex Appeal (Pimp In My Own Mind)"
but there is more to this former drug
dealer who cites Jay-Z, Scarface and UGK
as influences.
He
gets deep like in "F*** Amerikkka",
a track talking about the hypocritical
system many do/don't see in the U.S.A.
"Better Way" (featuring Beanie
Sigal), that deals with struggling but
striving for more, and "Here I Come",
a track about the life he lives and has
lived over a climatic beat!
Cash
doesn't forget where he comes from so
he does talk about the drugs, guns and
women but it's not always in a glorifying
fashion sometimes more in the "that's
was my situation" position.
Mixed
with a lot of beats of substance (produced
by Ray Cash, Scarface, Knoxxx, Rick Rock,
The Kickdrums, Cooly C, JakPot),and showing
styles that would be considered South,
Midwest and East, Cash does well on all
of them shining strong and his voice is
something you can hang your hat and remember.
I
can't say some of the tracks won't rub
some the wrong way but it's at least catchy
along with being a bit racy. Cash definitely
has the talent to stay in the game for
a while!
I'll give the debut album 4 GeoGlobes.
