I
admit I didn't catch the memo on the
Justified album so I listened to
TImberlake's second album with a bit of
apprehension but it was quickly put to
rest as the sounds of the 1980's with
a 2000 twist came over me while listening
most likely due to the majority of tracks
being done by Timbaland and Nate "Danja"
Hills.
The
album starts with the the title track
and
it gives you a good glimpse of what the
album will be about: futuristic sounds
and music to dance to!
This
album has plenty of hits including the
first single "Sexy Back" the
first single followed by "My Love"
featuring ATL rapper T.I., What Goes Around
and "Chop Me Up" featuring Three
6 Mafia and Timbaland but it's the songs
like "Damn Girl" (my favorite,
produced by Timberlake and will.i.am of
the Black Eyed Peas), and "Sexy Ladies"
that keep this album moving into each
other seemlessly at times.
Not
an album to listen to when you're trying
to stay still this 12 track LP is good
for a feeling good drive or a house party
with energetic dance partners.
"Losing
My Way" is a different song that
deals with substance and drug abuse on
a Timbaland beat. "(Another Song)All
Over Again" is a slow jam produced
by Rick Rubin meant to show his ability
to love more than sex when he messes up
and "Until The End of Time"
talks about his love being here until
his world time!
Overall Timberlake isn't reinventing the
wheel. He is a good entertainer/singer
with a Michael Jackson appeal to him and
he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously
which is good.Featuring beats by The Neptunes
and lot of Timbaland doesn't hurt either.
The thing I see is Timberlake seems to
enjoy music and that's needed in the business.
I'll give it 4 GeoGlobes.
