J-Dilla
was one of the greatest artists in Hip
Hop history and his legacy will live on.
The beatmaker had several projects underway
when he left this earth and many beats
that were getting that hotness spit on
them. Some work of J-Dilla's is featured
on The Shining ,
12 tracks of heats with a few artists
on it you might know.
Who
is on the album you ask? Well try Common,
Black Thought, Pharoahe Monch, D'Angelo
and Dwele. This album has beats you might
have hear in your J-Dilla journeys so
don't be alarmed but it also features
artists on it you didn't hear like Baby
featuring Madlib and Guilty Simpson. Simpson
is fire in a rainforest and he does damage
on the two tracks he's on.
Detroit's
own J-Dilla was great at all different
types of sounds and you get that on this
album from "Geek Down", the first track,
to "Won't Do", the last. Check out "Love
Movin'" featuring Black Thought and
tell me the tracks beats per minute does
speed up and down at various parts of
the song. If it doesn't the illusion is
wonderful. If you want to flow try your
skills on "Over The Breaks".
Overall
this album is a tribute to a pioneer in
the game and any more we can hear is a
blessing. It's good to hear witty talk
over vibrant beats and I hope more of
these can be made so many will never forget
the innovation Dilla brought to the music.
I wish it could have been
longer
but I'm just being greedy.
I'll
give it 4 GeoGlobes
