After
debuting to the world on his cousin's
(Q-Tip) fourth Tribe album Beats,
Rhymes and Life many would think
Consequence would be well on his way to
stardom.
Think
again!
It's been over ten years since that LP
and Consequence after getting a "regular"
job and grinding with music on the side
finally has released his first album on
Kanye West's G.O.O.D. label after a few
years doing the mixtape and guest appearance
scene hard.
Featuring
appearances from Kanye West, DJ Khaled,
John Legend, GLC and Really Doe this 15
track (3 skits) album features excellent
production from West, Karriem Riggins,
Keezo Kane, Koolade, Younglord, Darren
Henson, Keith Pelzer and Canai Finch.
Tracks you need to check out include "The
Good, The Bad, The Ugly", a old track
that ran through the mixtapes offen credited
to Kanye during his debut into the scene,
"Don't Forget 'Em", a track
about remembering
the hood after you make it, "Uncle
Rahiem", a cut where Con has a stand
off with his fresh from prison Uncle who
takes his space and stuff, "Feel
This Way", featuring a singing/rapping
John Legend and "Who Knew",
a track talking about his trials and tribulations
over a sample made famous by the late
great Luther Vandross.
Overall a hot debut by Consequence filled
with punch lines and solid beats. I'll
give it 4 GeoGlobes.
