After
two hot underrated albums I'm Serious
and Trap Muzik ,
the world seems ready to here the rapper
called T.I.. The Atlanta based rapper
has come out of jail, taken licks from
fellow ATLien Ludacris and Houston representative
Lil' Flip and now he's ready to let people
know why he is the "King of the South". Urban Legend ,
T.I.'s new album is his second album on
the Grand Hustle label and it's 17 tracks
and a little over a hour but does the
title justifiable? Read on and find out
as we give T.I. a GeoGlobe review.
The
album starts with "Tha King", a song in
which he uses a Run DMC line and runs
with it telling people why he is the best
in the south.
"Motivation"
tells those haters that whatever they
do only makes T.I. stronger and the cars
are just now blasting the second single
"U Don't Know Me", a song about keeping
distance from people you don't know or
like.
"ASAP"
uses horns and bouncy beat as T.I. explains
why he will get "justice" in short time
if anyone plays him.
"Prayin
for Help" is one of T.I.'s calls to the
heavens and the hood as he talks about
what we can do to make changes in the
neighborhood and "Why You Made At Me" uses a simple beat pattern as T.I. talks
about simple hatin' from his peers.
Jazze
Pha produces "Get Loose", a track ready
for the summertime and cars everywhere.
Nelly joins in on the cut and adds his
clientele list to the cut as he talks
to the ladies about getting down and dirty.
"What
They Do" has one of the most unique and
best beats on the album courtesy of KLC
of Beats By The Pound fame and T.I. and
B.G. get down talking the block game and
hustling.
Two
very confident people get on the track
as Mannie Fresh and T.I. get together
on "The Greatest" a slower track that
lets the two artists explain why T.I.
and Fresh are the running things at the
same time. The beat sounds almost royal
with flutes sounds throughout the track.
Lil'
Kim makes a appearance in the recording
studio between doctor's appointments and
lays down "Get Ya Shit Together", a Scott
Storch track that allows both MCs to talk
about people needed to step their games
up on material things and when dealing
with the partners.
"Pharrell and the Neptunes join T.I. again as "Freak
Though" is a typical 'Tunes track with
Pharrell singing about the ladies and
T.I. explaining a situation.
"Countdown"
reminds you of T.I.'s classic cut "Rubberband
Man" and it should as David Banner produces
this track as well. Nothing special here
just T.I. talking about coming out and
doing damage when he sees a particular
person.
"Bring
'Em Out" is the first single and Swizz
Beatz uses a old Biggie Smalls line used
by Jay-Z and T.I. does a great job reintroducing
himself to the world over the frantic
beat that will has most people with a
pulse bumping and jumping to the music.
"Limelight" features T.I.'s crew P.S.C. and his homie
Big Kuntry as they all talk about being
the stars and the ladies wanting them
now compared to the days of being regular
guys.
"Chillin'
With My Bitch", is another Scott Storch
track and he talks about just wanting
to be with a lady for the day featuring
the singing of Jazze Pha. Think of this
track as part two to "Let's Get Away" off the Trap Muzik LP.
"Stand
up" is the another big track and in the
lineup T.I. is joined by fellow southerners
Trick Daddy, Lil' Wayne and Lil' Jon,
who also produces the track. The song
is about those people who talk but don't
say the same thing when it's time to say
it. The track is rather calm for a Jon
track but it's not bad.
Daz
Dillinger brings a West Coast sound to
the LP as T.I. sounds like Tupac over
the chorus in "My Life". T.I. gets the
time to talk about his life and where
he is trying to go.
Overall
this album is good for your stereo. T.I.
doesn't say too much different than any
other southern MC but has those moments
he lets you know how versatile he is. Truth be told he is one of the
best MCs in the South because he doesn't
just use the "whatever is in style music" to get a audience. T.I. shows versatility
and has enough good people working with
him to be a success.
I'll
give the album 4 globes.
