Sheek
Louch, one third of The Lox, has returned
to the rap game (Although with his normal
bombarding of the mixtapes you'd never
think he left!) with a new album After
Taxes and a new distributor Koch
for his label D-Block. Louch's
first solo effort Walk Witt Me
was an slept on banger and let people
know that he was more than a complementary
piece to any team! Now he's trying to
make some bigger money on a smaller label
where he gets more money per CD sold after
taxes!
This
album is 19 tracks with little drop off.
It starts with the "Street Music" and
then hits you with "On The Road Again".
Jadakiss joins Sheek in "Pain"
and Sheek even goes "grown and sexy" on
"One Name" featuring former Bad Boy cohort
Carl Thomas. "Maybe If I Sing"
comes at the whole G-Unit crew and of
course 50 Cent specifically and the "Kiss
You're A** Goodbye (remix)" is monkey
food (a.k.a. bananas) with Fabolous, T.I.
and Beanie Sigel coming thru to drop lyrical
weight on people's heads! Beanie comes
at his old State Property family, T.I.
has to state why he's the "King of the
South" and Fabolous comes husky as well.
Other
hot tracks include "All Fed Up", a track
about women, cheating and children, "Get
Up Stand Up" featuring Redman, and "Movie
N*****" featuring Ghostface Killah!
I'll
give the album 4 Globes. If you like the
gritty sound and want to get some tough
talk from a 10 year vet in the game this
is a good listen. Hard beats with
little gimmick courtesy of Havoc, Rockwilder,
Supa Mario, Vinny Idol, Red Spyda, Cocoa
Chanelle, DJ Twinz, Alchemist and Mr.
Devine help the cause also!
