The
North Carolina based Little Brother returns
to the
mixtape scene with 1.5 of their Chitlin'
Circuit
series featuring some oldies and some
new cuts that
will have fans watering for their newest
album The
Minstrel Show. Phonte, Rapper Big Pooh
and producer
9th Wonder of course get help from The
Justus League
veterans like the Bronx MC Chaundon, Joe
Scudda,
L.E.G.A.C.Y. and Yahzarah as well as new
people like
Keisha Shontelle and Cesar Comanche.
You get to hear the group many compare
to a young A
Tribe Called Quest over hot beats done
by 9th himself,
Nicolay (Foreign Exchange), Young Guru
(Roc-a-fella)
and Khrysis (The Away Team). Notable songs
include
"Nobody Like Me" featuring O-Dash
and crooner Darien
Brockington, "Welcome to Durham"
featuring transplant
legend Big Daddy Kane, "Starvation",
"War" and "Altitudes".
This is just an appetizer for the new
album but it
leaves a strong taste in your mouth. I'll
give the
mixtape 4 solid globes. If you want to

I'll
give the LP 4 globes.
