GeoReview: Hezekiah, Hurry Up & Wait
By Clayton Ruley

This Delaware bred Hip Hop artist and producer came out with this album in 2005 but it's never late to get a GeoGlobe rating! With hard hustlin' and good networking Soulspazm Records signed this artist and this looks to be only the beginning of a long career. Without further ado lets get into the review.

After a throwback introduction "Put The Toys Away" comes on and the M-Phazes beat hits hard as Hezekiah does verbally talking about why he's not here to play the games in the booth or with the music business.

Aaron Livingston sings the hook on "Right On", a track that reminds you of a certain Detroit group in all the right ways! Hezekiah talks about all the things he's right on!

Sometimes you can deal with women and they can act in a way most "normal" people wouldn't think of. Now depending on the situation or the woman they could be a genius or in this case the woman could be loco in la cabeza! "Psycho Chick" is a song giving examples of one and many ladies that go too far! The song goes even further after the rapping stops as we hear a "phone conversation" where some more examples are given.it's scary!

On the closest thing to a crew cut we hear Keziah, Chief Kamachi and Richard Raw join Hezekiah on "It Couldn't Be Done", a track for the non-believers! The piano's sick on the self-produced track too!

I like the darkness on "The Children Don't Play" a track about growing up and what mama used to say that still holds true! Illmind produces the track and while short it's sweet!

Scratch does his wonderful music with his mouth on "Scandelous", a head nodding track that will make you stop and appreachiate it before you go back to what you doing. Hezekiah talks about how what he and his people bring to the rap game.

"You" allows many to see Hezekiah's ability to go all over the map and come back to one focus.you! He talks over a horn sampled track giving you a story with the hopes that you don't forget that at anytime any situation could involve you. I feel like in school when they say you can't define a word with the word.sorry!

"Live and Direct" brings Soulspazm's Grand Agent and Hezekiah together over a beat meant to go back and forth. One good line was said by Hezekiah when he said: "I wanna battle but opponents they postpone it!" Both MCs do damage on this track and show great chemistry.

Santi White sings on "Photograph" as Hezekiah talks about a woman and how despite the questionable things she does in the end she's still beautiful.

"Soul Music" is another stunning track this time featuring Eleon and Hezekiah talks about women and how we all have and need a little soul. Hezekiah brings his soul hypothesis to the light through storytelling about different women: their actions and his reactions.

Laidback and relaxed and perfect as a change of pace with a lady and glass of something chilled, "Lonlay (Rick's Lude)" is a jazzy interlude and it leads (awesomely) to "Conscious Porn" , a track talking about sexy in way less raunchy and more sensual. From conversations about slain leaders to touches at the club we'd all be lucky to get a lifetime of this although one night is an expericnce we can all hope for!

Bahamedia breaks up the late night hotel mood music with   "Gypsy Slang" doing her thing with authority after years in the game! She talks about what she does and what she doesn't do and makes a nice combination with Hezekiah over a beat by Anthony Accurate for Brainstorm. Hezekiah impresses me with the versatility on topics and type of tracks and this one is no different, as he never lets you think of a drop off.

Illmind produces "Before I Go" and lets Hezekiah get out some frustrations and it also features a bonus track that I'm sure you'll like called "Gasoline" \

Overall I was very impressed with the album and Hezekiah shows a diversity that is need in today's music. He was able to show a hard and soft side to his music, which is very human of him and there were times I could feel several emotions throughout the album. The album was bumpy in flow and that kept me the listener waiting for the next track.

I'll give the album 4 GeoGlobes.
