After his Streetsweeper, Volume 1
album Kayslay returns the Volume 2 and
continues to bring you combos of artists
you would normally never see on wax.
Among the best are Scarface and Ghostface
in “Face Off” Untouchables
featuring AZ, Prodigy and Raekwon and
“Not Your Average Joe” featuring
Fat Joe. Joe Budden and Joe. You also
have straight heat from some of you favorite
groups and people like Eminem and Obie
Trice in “I’m Gone”
in which Trice explains the whole Eminem
racism thing and how it affect him.
The album is nice but some many different
styles and contrasts stops this LP from
getting the consistent play in the cars
and on the boom box. Also the lack of
a first radio friendly single hurts.
One song for the books is Papoose’s
"Alphabetical Slaughter" where
Papoose kills the alphabet using each
letter to explain his skillz. This song
is one of the most creative songs I’ve
heard in a while and the future needs
to be fruitful for this young cat because
the song is fire. This song is strictly
4:48 of fire.
Also be sure to check out L.L. Cool J.
in "The Truth" where he takes
you back to his beginnings and the tells
you why his future is so bright. Probably
his best work in years.
A diverse product featuring production
by names like Kanye West, Eminem, E-A
Ski. Swizz Beatz and the Heatmakerz the
production is nice.
I’ll give the L.P./Mix Tape 3 globes.
