After
jumping labels from Loud to Jive and putting
out the hot Free Agents
double CD, The Infamous is back with the
new LP Amerikaz Nightmare .
Now that Mobb Deep are on Brittany
Spears' label will they compromise their
sound for a few extra bucks? Let's
get the scoop and give the LP a GeoClan.com
Global Rating.
"Amerikaz
Nightmare" is the title track and Havoc
and Prodigy go crazy on a mission to talk
about the hood and that fact that they
are still here and going very, very hard!
The beat done by Havoc (as are
80% of the tracks) and sound like a boat
marching through the water.
Alchemist
blesses the Mobb in "Win Or Lose" grabbing
a nice sample from "Here I Go Again" performed
by Jean Plum. H & P talk about
not giving up and doing them at all costs.
From the drug game to the rap game
and family business there is no losing
in this game! This track is a Mobb
Deep hitter and the type of track you
are used to hearing when Alchemist and
the team get together.
"Flood
The Block" is a up-tempo track with the
H & P talking about holding down that
proverbial block. What are they
holding it down with? The great thing
is you can use you imagination and it
will probably be what you think and more!
Havoc's beats never seem to cross
several paths meaning you know it's him
but you can say this sounds like another
Mobb Deep song which is crazy!
"Dump"
features Nate Dogg doing what else but
dropping that hot hook although you wish
he said his piece in such a monotone voice.
Prodigy comes out hard to whomever
he's beefing with now and tells people
that the Free Agents mixtape was just
the "scraps". They talk about the
people who are shady and trying to take
the Mobb's style or territory in the game.
"Got
It Twisted" is the first single and The
Alchemist once again does the damn thing!
The beat is crazy using samples
from the songs "She Blinded Me With Science"
and Saturday Night Style" Havoc talk about
getting with the baddest female in the
place and having a good time. Of
course, the fun and games can end if you
play the hatin' role! The beat
sounds like a murder mystery from the
late 1900's.
"When
U Hear The" is another dark track and
the fellas find a way to talk about their
longevity in the game, their prowess with
the women and of course why they are better
than you! Despite any record sales
this group wants to inform you of what
you already know they are one of the best
groups ever.
"Real
Niggaz" is about well.what a "real nigga"
will do. Red Spyda has a crazy
beat for the duo to spit on featuring
a consistent whistle on the track.
Of course the two emcees talk about what
will happen if you keep talking and doing
things to anger the Mobb. I assume
it could be on and off the track.
Shorty
Wop lets Mobb Deep get their semi-fast
flow out the box and go wild talking about
the usual, sex, murder and mayhem.
This could be for the after hours spots
as the Havoc beat is crazy and will help
a lot of action pop off if you give it
a chance.
"Real
Gangstaz" is featuring Lil' Jon on the
track and on the track if you know what
I mean. The duo talk smack about
gangsters and Jon of course hypes it all
up. The beat can be used for the
club scene and Jon teaches people a new
saying.
"One
Of Ours Part II" brings D-Block and Infamous
Records together as Jadakiss stops by
to knock up the pulsating track done by
Havoc. These three are some of
the best emcees in the last ten years
and they prove it with each line.
The baseline is addictive and 'Kiss in
particular is fire in a nuclear reactor
right now.
The
Mobb talks about weak emcees on the track
"On The Run". This beat sounds
like a guy (or gal) running from a dangerous
situation and finding different obstacles
on the way. H & P talk about
things changing and the need to adjust
the way you get your paper. Don't
we all know about that?
Kanye
West brings his beat to the table in "Throw
Your Hands (In The Air), a track talking
about having different situations in which
you would have to put your hands in the
air for. The violins in the track
are crazy and the track features a sample
from "Live From Connecticut" performed
by the Cold Crush Brothers.
"Get
Me" talks about people who want who want
to take the Mobb out and the tracks features
Littles and Noyd. We know how the reserves
play too, especially when coupled with
Mobb Deep: it's crazy!
"We
Up" is much more calmer in tone and Havoc
and Prodigy lets go on a track reminiscent
of the 80's beat breaks. The team
talks about the fact that they can't sleep
that want to succeed and they feel the
pressure as well!
"Neva
Change" uses a sample from "Time For A
Change" and the results are a hot horn
based beat and the Infamous spitting on
what isn't going to change in this lifetime.
As
a bonus the also include the "Got It Twisted
(remix)" featuring Chi-town's Twista with
his fast flow. You never thought
you would hear this combination together
but that is the beauty of Hip Hop.
This
album features the banging beats, the
normal Mobb Deep talk and they even used
other producers on this album showing
their diversity. I of course wished
they had more of the Infamous Mobb on
the LP and maybe a QB reunion (Cormega,
Nas or Nature) but that's ok. While
not Hell On Earth or The Infamous classic
material this album goes right with their
last LP Infamy. It's not better
than Murda Muzik
but still a very quality product that
will have you head knocking as you ride
or do what you do. If you like
the Mobb you will be happy to hear something
new for Queens best duo! The Kanye
beat was good but nothing to call different
compared to his other work. Alchemist
helps with heat on the beats and Havoc
is always heavy on the beats. Havoc also
did more rapping on this LP and did a
very nice job but you still would have
liked to hear Prodigy go crazy on a track
for dolo like he did on Apostle's Warning
on the Hell On Earth
LP.
I'll
give the album 4 globes. Compared to their
previous work this is good but could be
better with a few better choruses and
more diversity in topics.
