To
put it short and sweet, Bomb the System,
a new movie about graffiti illustrates
the intricacies of urban art as it explains
the experiences of Graf writers in New
York. The movie stars Mark Webber (The
People I Know, Boiler Room)
who plays BLEST along with Gano
Grills (In
Too Deep, Streets is Watching
) who plays BUK50. Both actors
deliver dynamic and exciting performances.
The two along with BUK's little
brother rise to the top of New York, taking
the city by night. However they
have frequent encounters with a crooked
NYPD Vandal Squad officer, which leads
the trio to battling the system.
The
film captures the essence of urban art
from its roots to its present form.
Beat Street and Wild Style were premium
graffiti productions respectively, and
Bomb the System should be classified among
them also.
I'll
give the film 4 Globes.
