Barack
Obama's second book, The Audacity
of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming Reclaiming
The American Dream, reveals his
feelings and politics towards values,
economics, poverty, ethics, education
and the military- all just a few amongst
many other pertinent issues discussed
in the book. Widely known for his
community organizing efforts in the south-side
of Chicago, Obama represents the 13 th
district in Illinois, assuming the position
after winning the 2004 senate race against
Republican candidate Alan Keyes (author
of Reclaiming America's Moral Destiny).
Obama has distinguished himself as a prominent
African American politician, for he possesses
charisma and displays competency in an
area where most politicians have a void.
Additionally, Obama has the ability
to empathize with his constituents, rendering
him highly qualified and effective: perfect
attributes for one who could possibly
ascend to the seat of the presidency in
2008. Moreover, "The Audacity of
Hope" speaks to those who have ever conceived
of the idea of the American dream, and
it forces one to examine their personal
politics, while assessing the intricacies
and integrity of U.S. politics.
I'll give the book 5 GeoGlobes.
