Public Enemy
#2 picks up where A
Right To Be Hostile left off
and talks about all the current events
that happened up to and including the
War in Iraq. Huey and Riley are still
serving up their brand of justice and
Huey in particular is still saying what
most humans can't because of the ramifications
it could have.
Most
importantly, Aaron McGruder continues
to challenge the reader to think outside
the box and for African-Americans and
minority gives them a voice where they
have little to none! While he can't create
action he can certainly put the idea in
the air through his illustrations and
words and that has to be recognized and
appreachiated.
McGruder
catches a lot of flack for his opinions
and the notion of the comic but he finds
a way to laugh in the face of the opposition
and even lets it add to the comics
presence! An example is the Adventures
of Flagee and Ribbon, a spoof the patriotism
of some Americans and how it clouds the
truth. Other topics that this installment
deals with include, The Kobe trial, Rush
Limbaugh and his little drug problem,
The 2004 election, Hip Hop (as usual)
and other social and political events
and happenings.
Once again if you can stand to think and
laugh too this comic strip does a body
good! I'll give it 5 GeoGlobes. I hope
it's not all fun and games for the reader
though because most of this comic strip
is so striking and true it deserve action.
There are alot of things in this world
that make you saw what!!!
